There are many different types of horror films but they all share similar characteristics . Horror films have a lot of different sub categories here is a list of some of the sub horror categories:
- Action Horror
- Teen
- Zombie
- Slasher
- Romantic
- Psychological
- Gothic
There are certain conventions which all of these films carry such as camera work and through the use of editing.Romantic and Teen films have similar characteristics , normally the female is first to die and is also exploited through out the film. The Killer tends to be a male even in psychological films for example 'psycho' which is arguably the best film of all time.
So as you can tell all horror films share characteristics with one another .
