RESEARCH INTO REPRESENTATIONAL ISSUES.
ETHNICITY;challenging the idea that black people are seen as a threat in a culturally diversed society.It also emphasize on the typical hoodies used by most black boys as our character is seen with a hoodie to cover his school uniform.Challenging stereotype of the boy not being the killer but the victim.
GENDER; our film is challenging a stereotypical representation of women as being weak and most of the time the victims in horror films by using a male victim,we are suggesting to the audience that with the themes of horror nobody is safe.
AGE;Our film opening portrays teens in a rude,lazy,care free and arrogant manner ,however it is challenging the fact that they are seen as strong and energetic as compared to the old or elderly which society see as weak and vulnerable.It challenges stereotypes by emphasizing on teenager's vulnerability and weakness when the college corridor lights start flickering.
